The End is Near

For the past two hours, Roscoe's oxygenation has steadily trended downward. Two hours ago it was in the 91-93 range, about a half hour ago it was in the 88-90 range, and now it is 81-84. We are concerned that this may be the final chapter of Roscoe's story.

The doctors are considering taking him off of the paralyzers so that he can move around a little. I am not sure if this is to stimulate better blood flow, or if it is just so that Alisha and I can gaze into his eyes one last time.

Alisha and I are heartbroken, confused, frustrated, and filled with sorrow. We feel like we have been beaten and God has left us. We know that isnt the case, but its yet another instance where our emotions and intellect are in disagreement. We plan to spend this last day with Roscoe, enjoying the little time we have left. We hope this isn't the end, but in case it is we want to make the most of it.

  6. I know that this must be the hardest day of your life. Losing a child is the worst feeling in the world. Just know that God truly does know best. He is holding Roscoe in His Hands...and He wants to comfort you. He loves all of you. Roscoe knows you love him. He will take that to Heaven with him when he leaves this world. Never doubt that. He knows you did all you knew to do. His soul is bigger than his tiny body. I pray you feel the love of God and those of us who weep with you and pray for you. God bless you.

I'm praying that you will feel God's presence with you and the peace that only He can give. Your family and friends are on this journey with you and we are here to give you all the love and support you desire. I love Roscoe! I love you, Shaun & Alisha!
"The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them, he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteousness man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all." Psalm 34:17-19

  17. I don't know you personally, but I've been keeping up with Roscoe's story from other friends' posts. But you are part of my family in Christ and are very dear to me. I pray fervently that Roscoe will make it through this latest crisis. Whatever the outcome, my prayer is that our heavenly Father will help you to hold onto your faith and see you through.

  25. Dear Lord, I pray to you and I ask that you would fill Roscoe’s parents with a deep sense of your peace and grace. I ask that you would surround them with your love and hope. Lord let your unfathomable love carry them through the days ahead. Please, Lord be with the nurses and doctors that are watching over this little boy.
